Biography
Daniel was baptised in Shearsby, Leicestershire on 26 June 1796. He was the son of Ann Cramp [1].
On 4 April 1814, aged 19, he signed up to the 14th Foot Soldiers, 3rd Battalion [2]. At that time he worked as a labourer and was 5' 5.5" tall.
