Jedediah Runnals and Abigail Crandel, 17 Jun 1741 at Stonington by Rev. Joseph Fish, witnesses Joshua Holmes, Mary Holmes.
In his book, Genealogy of the Russell Family Lyman Russell said Abigail Crandall's line is not fully identified but he believed she was the great-granddaughter of Rev. John Crandall. [2] He said, "there is no doubt in my mind about Rev. John Crandall's being our ancestor." Rev. John Crandall was of Welch ancestry and was in Salem, Massachusetts as early as 1635. He was the pastor of the Salem church but was a Baptist and was dismissed by the Puritans in 1635. He moved to Providence and was the first Baptist Elder in Westerly, Rhode Island.
