The 1871 census lists William Crane as a 61 year old grocer living in Bispham,Bispham with Norbreck, Lancashire with his wife Mary and daughters Margaret and Mary Ann and a boarder William White.[4]
The 1881 census lists William Crane (72, born in Carleton, Lancashire) living with his wife Mary (69, born in Preston, Lancashire) at Bispham with Nortreck, Lancashire. He is a farmer of 8.5 acres and a grocer.[5]
