Biography
Elizabeth Cotton Creecy was born January 29, 1800, a daughter of Lemuel Creecy and Penelope Skinner. In 1814, in Chowan County, North Carolina, Elizabeth married Thomas Benbury, a son of Richard Benbury and Penelope Creecy. Elizabeth died July 9, 1852, at the age of 52 years and is buried in the churchyard of the Saint Pauls Episcopal Church, in Edenton, Chowan County, North Carolina. [1]
