Frances Mary Crimp was born on 5 March 1851 at Ringmore and married Benjamin Hooppell on 18 April 1872 at Charles the Martyr, Plymouth. Benjamin was born 21 April 1844 in Hexdown, Bigbury and became a farmer at Hexdown, Bigbury from 1876 to 1881, a farmer and tax collector at Mount Folly, Bigbury in 1890, and a farmer at Folly Farm in 1891and 1901. In 1911 Benjamin Hooppell 66 was a farmer at Bigbury living there with wife of 38 years Frances Mary and one of their three children Benjamin John 31, and a servant. He was a yeoman from 1898 to 1914, and died on 10 October 1933 aged 89 at Bigbury. Frances Mary died on 3 May 1936 aged 85. Son Benjamin John aged 21 in 1901 on the farm with his parents and a servant and a nephew Harry T Hoskins age 14 from Ugborough.
