Bernard Crofts was born in Derbyshire, England.

When Bernard Crofts was born on 13 April 1860 in Clay Cross, Derbyshire, his father, Joseph Crofts, was 40 and his mother, Mary Platts, was 30.[1]

He was baptised on 20 May 1860 at North Wingfield, Derbyshire, England[2]

Less than two years after they were married they immigrated with their young son Frank to Sydney on the ship "Belgravia" leaving Plymouth Sound at 4 p.m. on March 7 and arriving 2 May 1884. Their passage was assisted by British Government and Bernard was one of 2 wheelwrights. Bernard was 23 and Ellen only 21.[8]

Trips by Bernard Crofts, not sure if the same person. Bernard arrived at Albany on 4 Nov 1897 from London.

He left London, England on 29 Aug 1913 for Sydney, Australia on the shop Otway. He arrived in Sydney, Australia on 8 Oct 1913.[11]
