Notes
Note NI444Written by Ann nee: Sims LambI didn't have much to do with my brother Pat as I grew up; he went into the Navy when I was about 4 years old. He used to bring back lots of wonderful gifts from Korea and married a lovely woman called Fay; she had the patience of a saint and certainly needed it with Pat. I recall only ever staying with Pat and Fay once when I was about 8 or 9 years old. I think there was only Carol (their first born) at that time. I remember their toilet was a long drop outside toilet and it was night and very dark, I was terrified, as I needed to go and there was no way out of that scary visit. I had visions of huge weta's hanging from the toilet seat so in desperation I went in a little space in the garden. In the morning to my horror there were my doings for all the world to see, I was mortified. Fay looked at the little pile and said, "goodness me that must have been a big pussy cat who did that mustn't it" I could have hugged her because I knew; she knew it was me and had chosen to save my face. I loved her for it. I was deeply saddened when she died in later years of breast cancer. Pat now resides in Australia as does several of his 6 children.
