from The Arizona Republic - Came to Arizona from Indiana with his parents. Father was appointed Indian agent at Sacaton under President Harrison. Was schooled in Phoenix and had been a newspaper carrier for the Arizona Republic. He had been an Indian trader at Sacaton, then at Mesa, where he also farmed. He also opened an investment company, The Crouse Investment Company, and had been Maricopa County Recorder for a time. Survived by wife, Eliza K Crouse; daughters: Mrs. Barto Davis, Mrs. Shirley Sobey, and Mrs. Junius Driggs; son: Ross C Crouse. (all lived in Phoenix.)
