Elinor Virginia Crowe was born December 21, 1903, in Richmond, Virginia, United States, the daughter of Harry Joseph Crowe, a salesman, and Helen Snowden Jones.[1]

Elinor was married five times, twice to the same man. Firstly to actor William Lawrence Boyd in 1926 (until 1929),[2] then Thomas W. Daniels (an aviator), in Yuma, Arizona, in 1932 until 1932[3] (annulled almost immediately, and her engagement to one Frank Clark announced),[4] then a second time in 1934 until 1935,[5] then Jack White, in Nevada in 1941 until 1944,[6] and finally Merle Aubert Martin in 1944 until her death.[7]

Elinor Virginia Martin née Crowe aka "Elinor Fair" passed away April 26, 1957, in Seattle, Washington, United States, aged 53 years, with the cause being given as hepatic coma due to acute alcoholism and cirrhosis. She had been in the King County hospital for four years.[8] Her mortal remains were cremated, disposition of the ashes unknown.
