Biography

Eva Lee Crowley was born on 15 Sept 1872, at Pleasant Hill, Lane County, Oregon Territory, United States. She was the daughter of Charles Crowley and Mary Conger. Her family were early pioneers to Oregon, who traveled the Oregon Trail by wagon train in 1852. In 1884 the family moved to Long Creek, Grant County, Oregon. She married George W. Baldwin on 18 May 1893 in Grant County, Oregon. Eva and George had two children. Carl was born on 14 Feb 1896. For a time the family lived in Umatilla County, and Beatrice was born in Meacham, Oregon, on 4 Apr 1898. About 22 years were spent on the homestead ranch on the John Day River in Eastern Oregon. In January 1929 the State Line farm was bought.

In 1900 Eva Lee (Crowley) Baldwin was living with her husband George Baldwin and two children in Susanville, Grant County, Oregon. On 10 Mar 1941 Eva was stricken with paralysis. She passed away at age 68 on 22 Mar 1941 in the hospital at Pasco, Franklin County, Washington. She is buried in the Mount Hope Cemetery, College Place, Walla Walla County, Washington, USA.
