Dennis Cuff was born in Ireland and migrated to the United States. He lived in the Boston area and worked as a laborer. He married Mary (Unk) and had children in Massachusetts before packing up his family and moving to California. He passed away on 8 May 1881 in California, based on his burial location. He was associated with the Exempt Fire Company, a volunteer firefighting organization, that announced his funeral in The San Francisco Examiner newspaper.[1]
