Notes From FindAGrave Memorial: [1]William Henry Culpepper was a Methodist Minister. He had a farm west of Wadley that was referred to as a plantation.
He did not have slaves. He did not believe in slavery. He paid people in money who worked for him. At the beginning of the Civil War he was assigned to be a member of the Home Guard. These were males too old or too young to be in the regular army. Their job was to assist those left at home with any resources available. William Henry was a Republican. After the war was over he was well known for helping with the process of reconstruction. When he died so many attended his funeral the service was moved to a vacant field nearby.

Culpepper, Emily Miriam Culpepper, Lewis Washington Culpepper, Sarah Jane (Culpepper) Haralson, Martha Louisa (Culpepper) Perry and Florilla Catherine (Culpepper) Kirk.

His second wife was Catherine Alexander and they were married on 2 January 1850[3].

His third wife was Mary F. Falkenburough and they were married on 25 October 1880.[4]
