Singleton Argus (NSW: 1880 - 1954), Thursday 5 October 1922, page 2 DEATH OF MRS REG. DAWES, A very painful and sad shock was experienced by the family and friends of Mrs Ethel May Dawes, wife of Mr Reg. Dawes, of "Mullee," Davis Creek, Rouchel, when it was learnt that she had suddenly passed away at the Dangar Cottage Hospital on Tuesday evening. The deceased lady, who was 38 years of age, had been operated on in the hospital three weeks before, and was considered to be making a splendid recovery. On Sunday and Monday last she was quite" bright and cheerful, and she was so well on Tuesday that she was expected to leave her bed for a while on Thursday. However, between 5 and 6 pm. on Tuesday, while she was about to have tea, she collapsed and passed away peacefully, despite all care and attention. The late Mrs Dawes was the youngest daughter of the late Mr and Mrs Duncan Cumming, of Davis Creek, and was herself born on the Rouchel. Besides her husband she leaves a baby boy aged 15 months. Much sympathy is expressed for the family in the sad stroke that has fallen on them so suddenly. The interment took place at the Church of England Cemetery, Whittingham yesterday afternoon.
