BURIAL Spring Hill Cemetery Harrodsburg, Mercer County, Kentucky, USA PLOT Sect. G Obituary Harrodsburg Herald, Harrodsburg, Mercer Co, Ky, Fri Jun 15, 1923 Mat Curd, a former resident of Harrodsburg, died in Kansas City Wednesday morning, aged 86 years. He was for many years cashier of the First National Bank in this city. He has been living in Kansas City for almost thirty years. Surviving him is a daughter, Mrs. Lillian Curd Elliott, of Kansas City, a brother, Mr. Joe Curd, also of Kansas City, and a sister, Mrs. Jennie Marimon, of Cincinnati.

His wife Ada Burgin Curd died in 1914 at her Brother's home in Mercer, Kentucky. In both 1900 and 1910 she is listed as living in Kentucky. On her death record she is listed as widow but James Madison Curd died in 1923. A mystery to be sure. He is not listed on her death certificate. https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-C9TF-VSLR-6?i=2738&cc=1417491

It appears that Ada and the children resided in Kentucky. Lillian married Everett Elliott and resided in Kansas City with her husband in the same town her father lived in. She was in Kansas with Everett as early as 1902 when they married https://books.google.com/books?id=DH0UAAAAYAAJ&pg=PA663&lpg=PA663&dq=everett+elliott+Kansas+city&source=bl&ots=hzVBYjs2bk&sig=ACfU3U1Brr23b3PgBmn5bzOPUeTf1iGhzw&hl=en&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwinn66AkqLlAhVLmK0KHf8qD3cQ6AEwAnoECAkQAQ#v=onepage&q=everett%20elliott%20Kansas%20city&f=false.

I found another James Curd who may be confused with this one. The other one was also born 1938 but died 1915 and was married to someone else. see https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/95910517 as example of difference in information.
