Biography

William was born in 1880. He is the son of James Curran.

On 19th August 1914 he rejoined the Army, signing on at Lurgan. He had previously served 8 years with the Lincoln Regiment and had been discharged after the engagement finished. He served during WW1 with the 5th Battalion Royal Irish Fusiliers. He was deprived of pay on various occassions when stationed in Dublin, and his medical records show that he contracted syphilis.

William never married and was buried with his mother and father in Lisburn Cemetery. He died aged 58 in Antrim Mental Hosptial, probably due to the progression of syphilis. He died aged 58 Labourer, Single signed by John Curran.

His occupation at the time was listed as a labourer.

His burial was signed by his brother, John Curran.
