"Robert Currie, of Edinburgh, born in 1770, died in 1846. In 1806 he founded the Currie School in Thistle Street, which he turned over to our Grandfather, Peter Currie, about 1840, then located at No. 5, George Street, Edinburgh. Robert and Elizabeth Murray Currie had many children."[4]
Research Notes
Note that the birth year would be 1781 if the 1841 census is correct. The later date seems like a better match to the birth years of his children.
