Elizabeth Mariah Cusbert was born on 30 May 1865 in Dural, New South Wales, Australia^[1], the daughter of Stephen and Martha (Luke) Cusbert. She was the sister Stephen John Cusbert, Aleesia Jane Cusbert, Joseph Henry Cusbert and Albert George Cusbert.
