George was born in England in 1909,^[1] the son of George James Dakin (1870-?) and Elizabeth Stubbs (1876-?).

In 1938, in Victoria, he married Doris Emily Wilkinson (1917-2004). ^[2]

George passed away in 2000,^[1] aged 91.

He was buried in Grantville Cemetery. ^[1]
