Biography

Alexis was born on 2 Feb 1840, the son of Alexis Daoust) and Marie Marguerite Doré. He was baptised on 4 Jan 1840 in St. Polycarpe. His godparents were Antoine Doré and Brigitte Leduc.^[1]

He married Adeline Capeau on 27 November 1860 in St. Polycarpe.^[2]

Alexis died on 14 November 1913 and was buried on 17 November 1913 in Hull, Québec (Quebec), Canada.^[3]
His death notice appeared in the Ottawa Journal on 17 Nov 1913. It read: "The funeral of Mr. Alexis Daost, of 219 Notre Dame Street, Hull. was held from his late residence this morning. and was largely attended. The deceased was the oldeøt contractor in tbe city, and constructed many prominent buildings. He was in his seventy-fourth year. and has been living in Hull for a great number of years." ^[4]
