Biography

John S. Daveler was born on 28 Mar 1855 in Pennsylvania (most likely in Lancaster County) to parents Emanuel Daveler and Rebecca Snyder.

Around 1880 he married Mary Elizabeth (Smith) Daveler (1860-1930). They are both listed as married in the 1880 census, however they are each living with their respective families. Together they had 7 children: Emma S. Daveler (1882-1946), Mary Esther (Daveler) Brubaker (1889-1940), Martha S. Daveler (1891-1953), Harry S. Daveler (1893-1952), Walter Smith Daveler (1896-1976), Richard Smith Daveler (1900-1982), and Charles S (who died at 8 years of age).

He lived and worked as a farmer his whole life in Lancaster County and passed away at his home on 15 Jan 1929. He was buried at the Elizabethtown Mennonite Cemetery.
