Sarah known as 'Lizzie' was the first daughter of Henry Edward Davies and Hannah John.
Lizzie was 6 months old when she arrived in New Zealand with her family on the ship Amoor in 1864. She isn't listed with the family on the passenger manifest.
After disembarking at Lyttleton, the family made their way over the bridal path to Christchurch and then onto Harewood. They remained there for a time and later moved to Irwell where Lizzie's father purchased a farm of 50 acres.
Lizzie attended Irwell School.
In 1891 she married to Thomas William Moor of Brookside settling in the Ellesmere area where they stayed for many years. They had 2 children during their marriage, Robert Henry and Sarah Jane.
In the 1930's when Thomas retired, a move was made to Christchurch.
Elizabeth Sarah Moor died in 1948 and is buried at Sydenham Cemetery in Christchurch. Block number: 19A Plot number: 28. Age recorded on burial record is given as 79 not 81.
