"A Welsh Minister." "Mr. Jones was married Aug. 21 1908, to Mrs. Sarah Phillips, widow of Rev. Sem Phillips, and daughter of Rev. John D. and mary Davies. She was born in New York in 1855. Mrs. Davies came to America in 1834 and Mr. Davies, who was a Welsh minister, came a few years after. They met and were married in New York and son after came to Wisconsin and settled in Rosedale, a village in Fond du Lac county, Wisconsin. In 1869, Mr. and Mrs. Davies purchased a farm near Dodgeville and resided there some years. In addition to his farm duties, Mr. Davies filled the pulpit of the Welsh Congregational Church. From this charge he was called to the church at Spring Green, which he had in his charger for some time. From Spring Green he was called to the church at Waukesha, and in 1906 Mr. Davies retired from the ministry and went to live in Chicago. since the marriage of their daughter to Mr. Jones, Mr. and Mrs. Davies have made their home in Dodgeville. Mr. Davies died in Dodgeville, Oct. 10, 1910, and Mrs. Davies passed away July 18, 1912.”
