Biography

She was a lifelong resident of the Berwick, Columbia County, Pennsylvania, area having been born in Summer Hill, part of the Berwick district. Verna was a longtime member of the Calvary United Methodist Church, Berwick, Columbia County, PA. Some of her other memberships included Circle Esther and the West Berwick Hose Company Auxiliary, but her main activity was caring for her ten children at her Fairview Avenue, Berwick, home.

Her Pennsylvania-issued Social Security date may show as incorrect according to daughter Lois L. FARVER LAUBACH. There had been a problem trying to correct the birth date which should be June 19, not May.

She died of "cardial arrest due to myocardial infarction; aortic stenosis, aortic insufficien," according to her death certificate. John-B. KELCHNER Funeral Home, Berwick, PA, with the Rev. Jerome HAUPT III, her pastor, officiating, directed her funeral services with burial three blocks from her home in the Rose Lawn Cemetery on Front Street, Berwick, Columbia County, Pennsylvania.
