Biography
Louisa was born in 1839 in Pennsylvania, the daughter of Samuel and Phoebe Davis. In 1860, the Davis family lived in Farmington, Olmstead, Minnesota. The household included Samuel, 60, b. MA, a farmer, with $800 in real estate and $600 in personal estate; his wife Pheobe, 52, b. MA (?); their children, Louisa, 21, b. PA; William, 22, b. PA; Henry, 28, b. PA; Joshua, 16, b. PA; Jonathan, 14, b. PA; and Simon, 6, b. Illinois. Also living with them was Sheldon Davis, 93, a farmer, b. Connecticut (probably Samuel’s father). [1]
