Biography
Isabella was born c1930 in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, based on her details in the 1851 census. Two of her brothers were baptised in the Primitive Methodist Church where her father was a local preacher in 1861, so the family was fairly seriously non-conformist.
In 1841 she was living at Derwent Haugh, Winlaton, Co. Durham with her parents - Matthew Davidson 42 Coke burner; Martha Davidson 45; John Davidson 16; Isabella Davidson 10; Grace Davidson 9; Matthew Davidson 6. All born in Co. Durham.[1]
She married John Wilkinson in the Dec quarter 1850 in Weardale reg district, Co. Durham.[2]
In 1851 the newlyweds were living with her parents in Tow Law, Co. Durham - Matthew Davison head marr 52 coke burner b Whittingham Northumberland; Martha Davison wife 56 b Wooler; Grace Davison dau unm 18 b Newcastle Northumberland; Matthew Davison son 16 b Newcastle; John Wilkinson s-in-law marr 23 b Newcastle; Isabella Wilkinson dau 21 b Newcastle[3]
In 1871 she was living at Grove Rd, Wolsingham, Durham, along with her widowed father - John Wilkinson h m 44 Coal miner b Shotley; Isabella Wilkinson wife 42 b Newcastle; Martha E Wilkinson dau 16 b Tow Law; Matthew Davison f-in-law widower 71 b Alnwick.[4]
