Augustus Green Dawson was born on 12 Dec 1815 in Bourbon, Kentucky, United States, son of Thomas Dawson (1759 - 1829).

In the 1850 census Augustus (age 35) was in Trigg, Kentucky, United States.^[2]

Augustus died in 1852 in Wharton, Wharton, Texas, USA aged ~36.

A. G. married Wilmoth Northington 1840 in Christian Co., KY. They had at least 3 children. They were in the 1850 Trigg Co., KY census then they moved to Wharton Co., TX where he died in 1852. His widow then married Stephen Rhodes Heard in 1859, Wharton Co., TX. Stephen had previously been married to her sister Susan Northington who had died 6 months earlier leaving several children.
