He was baptized on 13 Feb 1853 at Roman Catholic at St. Anselm's, West Chezzetcook., Nova Scotia, Canada, He married Mary Catherine "Cassie" Mason on 18 Aug 1875, recorded at the Church of England, Fern Hill, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Taken from the 1911 census he lives in Shoal Bay with some children remaining in the home and wife Mary Ann. He lives in home next to brother Benjamin Daye. Robert is a fisherman. listed as roman catholic and as a Canadian descent.
