Biography

Gerema (Deaton) Egleston was born in Appalachia, in Kentucky.

Gerema Mae Deaton was born on 2 April 1927 in Letcher County, Kentucky, United States^[1], daughter of William Press Deaton and Mary Belle (Craft) Deaton.

In the 1930 census Jerena (age 3) was the daughter of Will Deaton in River, Letcher, Kentucky.^[2]

In the 1950 census Gerema (age 23) was the never married stepsister of Marie Campbell in Middletown, Butler, Ohio.^[3]

Gerema married Charles Alonzo Egelston on 2 June 1950 in Union County, Indiana.^[4][5] They were parents four known children:

1. Sandra Lee (Egleston) Mullins (1945-2022)
2. Diana (Egleston) Patterson (unknown)
3. Charles 'Buster' Egleston (1951-2021)
4. Karen Sue Egleston (1953-2014)
5. William Stanley 'Bill' Egleston (1960-2021)

Gerema died (age 77) on 24 April 2004 in Ohio, United States^[6][7][8] and was buried in Woodside Cemetery and Arboretum in Middletown.^[9]
