Biography

The following is pure speculation: There is a possibility that Antie Decker was the mother of John William Morse (Morse-6288). Unconfirmed family trees list his mother as Anda Decker, with no dates. Antie Decker would have been about 30 yo when John Morse was born. His birth place was Amity, Orange County, New York, which is not far from Minisink Valley, where Antie was born.

According to research conducted by Robert W. Bloasberg and Jean-Albee Everitt, members of the Minisink Dutch Reformed Church, about twice a year between 1690 and 1737, itinerant ministers Hermon Blom and Peter Taselmaker, and possibly other ministers, from Kingston, N.Y., held religious services, baptized babies and married couples in the Minisink area. It was on Aug. 23, 1737, that the Rev. George Mancius organized the Minisink Church. Initially, there were four churches built, with the congregations spanning 50 miles along the Old Mine Road, and extending from Port Jervis, N.Y., to Smithfield, Pa.

She was baptized on 23 February 1765 at Walpack, Sussex, NJ Reformed Dutch Church. She married Johannes Paline VanEtten, son of Johannes VanEtten and Maria Consalus, on 16 March 1780 at Northampton County, PA. Cornelia Decker married Daniel LaBarre on 8 April 1812. Cornelia Decker died on 18 January 1858 at Northampton County, PA.^[4]
