Abigail Delano is the daughter of Philip Delano, Revolutionary War Patriot, and Esther Boardman, born 10 May 1785 at Norwich, Windsor, Vermont.

She married Samuel Cherry Jr. about 1803 in New York. They were early settlers at New Haven, Oswego, New York. The History of Oswego County, New York, records the arrival of Philip Delano and Samuel Cherry in 1813, with Samuel Cherry appointed one of the first Justices at New Haven.
Her husband died 10 Oct 1822 at Belleville, Hastings, Upper Canada. We find her on the 1850 United States Federal Census at Oswego Ward 4, Oswego, New York, living with her son-in-law Alpheus Stewart.
In 1870 she is listed as retired at Licking, Ohio, USA.
She died 6 Apr 1871 at Paris Hill, Oneida, New York, and is buried at Utica, Licking, Ohio. Her gravestone is inscribed, "Abigail Cherry, Born May 10, 1785, Died Apr. 6, 1871."
