Francis Denman (b.c. 1531 - bur. 6 May 1599), rector of West Retford, Notts. is the second son of Anne Hercy by her first husband, Nicholas Deman, esq. of East Retford, Notts.
According to Wilmshurst (1809), he had many sons who pre-deceased him and left two daughters as his heirs:
Barbara (b. abt. 1583, age 17 in 1600);
m. Edward (b. abt. 1582), eldest son of Sir Thomas Darell
