Biography

John was born in about 1550, presumably in Tilmanstone, Kent. He was the son of James Denne (abt.1515-abt.1557).

John Den[ne] yeoman of Updowne in the parish of Eastry wrote his will on 12 Feb 1601/2, which was proved at the Consistory Court of Canterbury on 23 Feb 1601/2.^[1] Note that although his will does not mention his wife (presumed deaceased), nevertheless her maiden name of Philpott is revealed by the will.

A death on about 15 Feb 1601/2 in Eastry, Kent would fit the will date range & seems a reasonable approximation based on available records at present.^[2]
