Biography

Dallas was born in 1827. He was the son of John Denton and Anne Sullenberger. He passed away in 1876.

Dallas married 1st on 25 Dec 1862 in Missouri to Teresa Amanda Lemmon. Two sons: James Jefferson Denton (1863-1921) and William L. "Bud" Denton (1864-abt 1871). Teresa died in childbirth. Dallas remarried her first cousin, Melvina Jane Ross on . Their common grandparents were Jacob Lemmon and Mary "Polly" Smith.

Dallas owned a mill on the Sac River. Although a Southern sympathizer, he ground grain for both the North and the South. He died when he caught a cold and developed complications after trying to save his crop from a flood.
