Biography

Henry B. Derryberry was born in 1662, in Rappahannock (now Essex) county, Virginia, a son of Peter and Mary Elizabeth Derryberry. [1]

On March 25, 1683, in Rappahannock (now Essex) county, Virginia, Henry married Mary Coghill. They became the parents of at least one son, George Derryberry, born 1688, in Essex county. [2]

This is false information picked up years ago and perpetuated over the years, Go to http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~fams/durrenberger for good facts on the family. Don't believe everything you see on Coghill and Derryberry .

I have never seen proof that this persons name was actually Derryberry. I have seen a copy of the record that this is based on and being written in longhand it can be deciphered any way the reader desires. There is only one known record of him. His father and descendants are pure supposition.

DNA has proven that the first ancestor in America was named Durenberger. No henry Durenberger descendant found.
