According to Find A Grave, Josiah was born in 1752 and he passed away in 1834.
Josiah was a soldier in the Revolutionary War, hired by General George Rogers Clark to guard ammunition being taken to Virginia settlements. He served under Capts Butler and Neville, and under Col Neville. He was captured by Indians in Kentucky, held for several years, given to the British, and was finally released after the end of the war.[1]

Josiah and his family moved from Bourbon County, Kentucky to Mercer County Kentucky in 1804. They moved from Kentucky to Missouri in 1819.
