John Wesley Diggs was born about 1766 in Virginia.[1] He was the son of William Diggs and Judith (Haley) Diggs. He was included in the minuites of the Quaker Meetings on June 1, 1799 with his mother Judith, stating "A number of Certificates were produced to this meeting from Cain Creek Monthly meeting dated the 1st of June 1799 for Friends living near Pee Dee River who are Thomas Hosman & (several names )— William Diggs & his sons, Littleberry, William, Armsby & Mark. Joseph Creio, Isom, Hailey & son Silas & John Diggs son of Judith which were all Read and accepted."[2]
