Elizabeth was born before 1810. She was the daughter of Thomas Dimock and Mary Kinsey, and was baptised on 19 August 1810 at St Helen's, Ashby de la Zouch, Leicestershire, England.[1][2]
Marriage: Elizabeth's marriage by license to John Hill took place on 2 April 1835 in St Alkmund's Church, Derby, Derbyshire, England. John Hill, bachelor was a Cooper of the parish of St Werburghs. Elizabeth was a spinster and they were both over 21. Witnesses were Mary Dimock and Sarah Dimock. [3]
1841 Census: In the 1841 census Elizabeth 30 was living in Brick St, St Werburghs, Derby. John 30 was working as a Cooper. They are living with John's father John Hill 70, who was the head of the household, and a Victualler, so they were likely living in a Public House. They have two children Mary 5 and John 2. [4] The Public House was likely the Brick and Tile, Brick Street, Derby. [5]
1851 Census: In the 1851 census Elizabeth 40, was the wife of John Hill at 1, Brick Street, St Werburghs, Derbyshire, England. John 40 was head of the household and was a Victuallar and Cooper employing 1 man. Children are Mary Ann 15, John 12, Henry 8 and Ann 6.[6]
1861 census: In the 1861 census Elizabeth 50, was the widowed head of household in 11 Arthur Street, St Alkmund, Derby, Derbyshire. She was described as a Proprietor of Houses. Son Henry 18 was a Turner and Fitter and daughter Ann 16, a Milliner. Also two grand children Alfred Hill 5 and Alice Hill 3. [7]
1871 census: In the 1871 census Elizabeth 60, was in 7 Elm Street, Derby, St Alkmund, Derbyshire. Daughter Ann 26 was a Milliner. [8]
Elizabeth, widow age 62, of 7 Elm Street died on 13 March 1873 in Derby, Derbyshire, England, and their estate passed probate on 7 April 1873 in Derby to James Francis King (brother in law) of the Bell Hotel, Derby, Hotel-Keeper and Thomas Sowter the younger (nephew) of Willow Row, Book Keeper, the Executors.[9][10][11]

Note: The grandchildren mentioned in the 1861 census Alfred and Alice Hill are actually Alfred and Alice Unsworth and are the children of her daughter Mary Ann who married William Frederick Shatwell Unsworth
