William married Esther Walker (1834 - 1903) on 4 Apr 1857 in St Peter's Church, Bradford.[4] Their son was George William Dixon (~1864 - 1873).
The family immigrated to Victoria, Australia, in 1860.[5]
William died in Dec 1891 in Williamstown, Victoria, Australia aged ~58.[6] Burial: 27 December 1891. Williamstown Cemetery, Williamstown, Victoria, Australia.[7] A newspaper article was published in the Leader (Melbourne, Vic. : 1862 - 1918, 1935) Saturday 2 January 1892, Page 43, Family Notices. DIXON.— On the 26th December, suddenly, at his residence, 81 Twyford-street, Williamstown, William, the dearly beloved husband of Esther Dixon, aged 58 years and 6 months.
