Dixon, Walter - Driver's Neck Broken in Runaway. Longmont, Colo--Walter Dixon, 28, nephew of Charles Pace, wealthy Longmont cattleman and ranchman, was instantly killed near the sugar factory when his team of horses ran away. Dixon was delivering a load of sugar beets, and the neckyoke broke, letting the wagon tongue drop. The horses immediately commenced to rear and plunge from fright, and Dixon, in an effort, to calm them, was pulled from the seat, his neck being broken and his skull fractured.
