Biography

Frederick was born in 1850. He was the son of Samuel Dobb and Jane Rowe. ^[1]

Frederick lived with his parents and siblings in Sithney, Cornwall, England. In 1871 he was aged 20 and single. His occupation was recorded as Ship Carpenter.

Frederick (Dobb) Dobbs migrated from England to New Zealand.

At the age of 24 he emigrated from England to New Zealand with his mother and two sisters, departing on 12 October 1875, arriving into Nelson on the ship Caroline in January 1876.^[3] (They settled in Thames in the Coromandel and apparently changed their surname to Dobbs.)

He married Janet Williams in 1881 in Thames.

They had five children, three of whom died young.

He passed away in 1926 at the age of 74.
