John was born on 14 Sep 1828 in England.[1]

John was a Civil War veteran.[2] At 19, he enrolled at Buffalo, New York to serve 3 years and mustered in as 2nd Lieutenant, Company B, 116th Regiment, New York Infantry on 1 Oct 1862. He was then mustered to Company D on 28 May 1863 as 1st Lieutenant. He was discharged 14 Nov 1863.[3]

He married Emma Pegg (born in England).[1]

John had lived in Pasadena, California for 16 years prior to his death.[4]

He passed away on 24 Apr 1904[1] in Pasadena, Los Angeles, California, United States[4] and is burie in Mdountain View Cemetery and Mausoleum in Altadena, California. [1][4]
