Biography

married Emily & established Austin & Dodson steel works (cutlery, files, etc) in 1865 with William Lawson Austin at Cambria Works, Sheffield. Files with this brand were still marketed in 1951. His sister Sarah took a set of cutlery with this brand to NZ when emigrating in1886. These are prized heirlooms among descendants. Sheffield University has a museum with samples of the hand tools & equipment from the factory.
