Biography
Louisa Doherty was the daughter of Hon. Marcus Doherty, a native of Dungiven, Ireland, and Elizabeth O'Halloran from Fermoy, County of Cork, Ireland, who had both come as a youth to North America.[1]
She married a Montreal insurance executive. P. Walter Kavanagh (1853-1905) on 10 Jul 1879 in Sherbrooke, while her father was stationed there as a judge and they had three children.
She died a widow in Manhattan, New York, USA in 1919 and was buried in Cimetière Notre-Dame-des-Neiges, Montreal, Quebec, Canada.[2]
