Obituary:

Foster, Ill., March 5 - Mrs. Amanda Ricketts, was born in Ohio, March 27, 1834, and moved with her parents to Drury, Ill. when a child. May 8, 1853 she was married to Anthony Ricketts and to them were born eight children. Her husband and two sons, Charles A. and Newton preceded her in death. Those left to mourn her death are: A. G. and Gordon Ricketts of Drury, Ill., Mrs. Frank Davis of Santa Anna, Cal., Mrs. Sade Jewell of Garden Grove, Cal., Fred A. Ricketts of Kelso, Cal., and Rufus Ricketts of Wilcox, Arizona, Mrs. Ricketts was a sincere Christian since childhood and a member of the M.E. church. She moved to California in July 1904 and lived with her daughter Sade until the time of her death Feb. 8, 1910.

The funeral services were held Friday Feb. 11, 1910 in Santa Anna. Rev. H. E. Murkett of the M.E. church officiating. Temporary interment was made in Santa Anna cemetery, but it is the expressed intention of the relatives to have the body brought home to her former home in Drury Ill., where other members of the family are buried. ^[1]
