Biography

Birth and Baptism

Michael Duke Doulton was baptised on 31 Jan 1909 (born 19 Dec 1908), child of Orrok Mills Doulton & Catharine May Doulton, in St James, Clapham Park, Lambeth, England.^[1]

1911 Census

In the 1911 census Michael (age 2) was the grandchild of, and living with Beijamin Duke (Doctor of Medicine) and Annie Langford Duke in Windmill House, Windmill Rd, Clapham, Common S W, Wandsworth, England. His parents are not present in this record, but his aunt, a cousin and two servants are also household members.^[2]

World War II Service and Death

Doulton served as a Flying Officer, 601 Squadron, RAF. His War Graves Commission records notes that he died 31 Aug 1940.

The Allied Airmen Roll of Honour notes that Doulton was shot down by Bf109s at Wennington near Rainham, Essex when intercepting an Enemy Air Raid and killed in action; Military Base: Debden, Essex; Wreck and remains recovered Apr 1984. He was buried at Salehurst Cemetery, East Sussex.Michael died on 30 August 1940 and was buried in Salehurst, Rother District, East Sussex, England.^{[3] [4]}Michael was in the Royal Air Force and died on 31 August 1940. He was in the 601 Squadron (service number 90235).^[5]

Probate

Michael died on 31 August 1940 in Shrewsbury and his estate passed probate on 25 March 1942 in Llandudno.^[6]
