Lucy Georgina Dowdle (married name Hawking) was born in 1869 in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, the daughter of Sarah Elizabeth Dowdle and John Blackett Dowdle[1].
She married Phillip William Hawking on 11 December 1912 at St Jude's Church of England in Carlton, Victoria.[2][3]
Lucy died on 10 July 1926 in South Melbourne, Victoria, aged 56 years.[4][5]
HAWKING—DOWDLE.—On the 11th December, 1912, at St. Jude's Church of England, Carlton, by the Rev. R. C. M. Long, Phillip William, third and youngest son of the late Phillip William Hawking, Esq., of Quarry-park Devonshire, England, to Lucy Georgina, only daughter of the late John Blackett Dowdle, of Tasmania and Melbourne, and granddaughter of the late David S. Cambie, Esq., Kilgarven-house, County Tipperary, Ireland.
HAWKING.—On the 10th July, at Homoeopathic Hospital, Lucy Georgina, the dearly beloved wife of Phil Hawking, Station street, Edithvale, and late of Melton, and only sister of Mr. John Dowdle, formerly of Abbotsford, aged 56 years. (Interred privately Melbourne General Cemetery July 12.)
