  • At St. Patrick's Church, Port Kembla, on the 23rd instant the wedding was celebrated of Miss Eileen O'Connell, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs.T. O'Connell, of Port Kembla, and Mr. Lawrence Doyle, youngest son of Mr.and Mrs. T. Doyle, of Port Kembla. The Very Rev. Father Dunne officiated.The bride was given away by her father, and wore a gown of ivory duchesse satin, with overdress of Chantilly lace. She wore the customary wreath and veil, the latter kindly lent by Mrs. J. Cross. The beautiful bouquet of roses, carnations, and Shasta daisies, together with an aquamarine pendant,were the gifts of the bridegroom. Misses Catherine Rudd and Rita Keen were bridesmaids. The former wore a frock of Alice blue and pink georgette, with hat to match, a bouquet of pink roses and daisies and gold bangle were the gifts of the bridegroom. The latter wore white crepe-'de-chine, with blue and white hat, and carried a white satin cushion. A gold brooch was the gift of the bridegroom. Mr. T. Farrolly, of Sydney, was bestman. Mr. and Mrs. O'Connell entertained the guests after the ceremony at the residence of their daughter, Mrs. G. Keen. The bride's mother wore black crepe de-chene and hat to tone. The bride groom's mother wore black satin, with hat to match. The happy couple later left for Katoomba, the bride travelling in a frock of grey cashmere-do-soie, with black crinoline hat, trimmed with fruit and flowers. A wide array of presents included several cheques.
