In the name of God amen I John Drew of the parish of All Hallows the Less being of sound mind but indisposed of body and knowing the uncertainty of life maketh this my last will and testament in the following manner first I will and bequeath to my dear wife Elizabeth Drew all my household goods plate and chattles and I also desire that my wife Elizabeth Drew shall first pay my just debts and after she has so done I desire her to carry on my trade for her maintenance and bringing up of my ffamily I also will and bequeath to my son John Drew one hundred pounds I also will and bequeath to my daughter Caroline Drew one hundred pounds I also will and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth Drew one hundred pounds I also will and bequeath to my son Andrew Drew one hundred pounds I also will and bequeath to my daughter Anne Catherin Drew one hundred pounds which amounts? I desire my wife Elizabeth Drew may pay to my above children on their arrival to the age of twenty one years or on the day of marriage if either of my above children should die before they arrive to the age of twenty one or before the day of marriage then their money to be equally divided between my surviving children and if it should please god to take my wife Elizabeth Drew before my above children should be brought up then all the stock in trade goods and chattles to be equally devided between my surviving children but if any of my above children should have received their hundred pounds before my wife Elizabeth Drew should depart this life then as many that had received this my legacy should have one hundred pounds less than those of my children who have not received this my legacy I also desire and appoint my wife Elizabeth Drew to be one of my executors and Mr John Betts to be the other of the executors John Drew witnesses John Betts Sarah Betts wife of John Betts Elizabeth Croker
This will was proved at London the eighteenth day of March in the year of our lord one thousant seven hundred and seventy six before the worshipful --- Simpson doctor of law and surrogate of the right worshipful --- George --- knight also --- of laws master keeper or commisary of the perogative court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the oath of Elizabeth Drew widow the --- of the deceased and John Betts the executors named in the said will to whom administration was granted of all and singular the goods chattles and credits of the said deceased having been first sworn duly to administer
