Haydn Geoffrey Drinkwater was born on 2nd December 1924 in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, England, United Kingdom. He was the younger son of Reginald Drinkwater and Edith Wilson. [1]
Together with his parents and older brother, Haydn migrated to New South Wales, Australia in 1928 aboard the Medic. The family settled at Kingsgrove, in Sydney's south.
On 12th January 1943 at Sydney, Haydn enlisted in the Royal Australian Air Force for service during the Second World War. His next-of-kin is listed as Jessie Drinkwater. His final posting was to RAAF Station Port Moresby. The war over, he was discharged on 23rd April 1946 with the rank of Leading Aircraftman. [2]
Aged 60 years, he passed away on 8th November 1985 in Peakhurst, New South Wales and is interred in Woronora Memorial Park, Sutherland. [3]
