Sir George Duff-Sutherland-Dunbar 6th Bt is Notable.

Sir George Duff-Sutherland Dunbar was a British Colonial Officer and historian.

Sir George Duff-Sutherland Dunbar of Hempriggs, 6th Bt. was born on 29 May 1878.^[1] He was the son of Garden Duff-Dunbar of Hempriggs and Ackergill and Jane Louisa Duff. At birth he was given the name George Duff-Dunbar.^[2]

He was educated at Harrow School and the Royal Military College, Sandhurst.^[2]

Marriages:

• Sybil Hawtrey Tate, daughter of Colonel Charles W. H. Tate, on 8 July 1903.^[3]
• Dorothy Hewlett, daughter of Colonel G. G. Hewlett, on 3 May 1921
• Dulcie Edith Joyce, daughter of S. Wescombe Joyce, on 2 November 1956

He served in the Indian Army and fought in both World Wars.^[2]

He was the author of several books on the history of India:
